Being able to connect with everyone again after the weekend with our host families was fun. Today we did the walking tour of Dublin with our tour guide Patricia, and we learned many things that I did not know about Ireland. For example we learned more about the Easter rising in 1916 and were able to go to the post office where it started. Also on the tour we got to see Trinity college which was pretty cool even though we were not there for long, it was interesting how they could fit all of that and a couple pitches in the center of Dublin. One of the final things we did on the tour was getting Irish sweets. The Irish sweets were pretty similar to what we would see in America, but they were creamier and less sweet, which I found to be better. Due to this tour I now know so much more about Irelands culture, and I can not wait to learn more.

After the hustle of yesterday today was definitely more relaxing. From what I know, many of us slept for a while. Today for me I went to my exchange students grandparents house. While walking we saw amazing scenery. With amazing mountains in the background. As we go I’m sure we will see more scenery like this everywhere.

Saturday/Sunday, April 13/14 (Conor)

  his weekend was very fun, it was full of activities and also time to sleep in and rest. Saturday we started out the day by getting the train to Dublin in the early afternoon. We ate at a restarting called Nando’s for lunch with some of the other boys on the trip(it was great). This was before we got back on the train and headed over to the Aviva stadium for the Leinster rugby match. We had a great time and Leinster got a big win. On the long trip back to Tullyallen we got spice boxes for the train. Next, on Sunday I slept in and then went with my host family to the nearby trim castle. We walked around and then got a tour of the inside. The castle is from the year 1172. After the tour we hung out and watched the Dublin vs. Meath Gaelic football game being played at croke park on tv. That was until I went out to dinner in Skerries at a great restaurant and now am back home recharging for the week.
